There once was a banker who always seemed to be short on cash at the end of the month. As much as he tried, he always had to scrimp more as the weeks went on. Until one day, his friend bought him a ledger and told him to write down how much he spent on a daily basis. So the banker carried his ledger with him everywhere he went and recorded every financial transaction he made. Everything from big purchases like a new television to the cup of coffee at the local coffee shop. Eventually, he started his own business and he practiced keeping a record with his new business as well. It also helped that he kept all of the receipts. Finally at the end of the month, he had just enough save for the next month. He was happy and he hoped to buy a new house one day.
